How to get there: In Fallbrook, take DeLuz Rd north to Sandia Creek Drive. Continue on Sandia Creek Drive to you get to the Santa Margarita River and the trailhead is on the right.

This is a beautiful trail for all year round because its shady and follows the river.  Its easy to moderate depending on how far you want to go.  The trail is well maintained and popular.

After doing Iron Mountain, Cowels and all the normal hiking spots in San Diego I started to search the web for some less well know trails and came across this little gem. The drive from Poway took me about 30 minutes as I drove through beautiful avocado farms I really had no idea what to expect. The trail is in reasonable condition, it is very rocky and in some parts gets really steep. I didn't see another person the whole time I was on the trial.
